Just checked out Truly Sichuan for the first time. The restaurant is in the middle of trendy Ridgewood. The decor is modern and pleasant, the staff is friendly and helpful.
We selected soup dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and steamed dumplings with chicken for appetizers. All were very flavorful and tasty. For dinner the kids had lo mein and sesame chicken, both were quite good. For the adult main courses we had the Sichuan Lamb and Whole Grilled Tilapia. Each dish featured the tingle of Sichuan peppercorns. The lamb was extremely tender and the fish was perfectly moist.
The owner checked in with us to make sure everything was going well and to speak about the food. We could tell she takes pride in her restaurant. Really an enjoyable restaurant, we'll certainly return.

“Man oh man, as a Chinese national, all I can say is "Truly Sichuan is now my favorite Chinese restaurant in NJ, period!". I came here without any expectations for a casual dinner gathering with a bunch friends, left with a food coma and a stomach full of authentic, quality, and spicy Sichuan food. A few of my favorite dishes are Spicy Boiled Chilli Beef, Spicy Wonton (without soup), Spicy Fish With Toufu, and Eggplant with Garlic sauce. If memory serves me right, they taste way better than anything from my childhood in China. 5 out of 5 highly recommend!"
